Placenta Previa

I was told I have placenta previa at my Level II (complete).

Have you been diagnosed with this and did the placenta move if it was complete? I was reading past posts and saw that partial moved and complete did not. I want to start preparing myself mentally for a C-section if that is what I'm going to end up having.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Placenta Previa

I was told I had complete previa at my level II. It has moved a tiny bit, right now it's a marginal previa, but they said I still need a c-section since the placenta is still touching the cervix.

Were you ever put on bed rest or restrictions...my doctor didn't warn me of anything but I'm still worried

Re: Placenta Previa

I had complete previa with my son, who was born on May 1, 07...He wasnt due till May 31st...I didnt find out I had complete previa until I started bleeding at 30 weeks...I was put on total bedrest..not allowed up unless i was using the bathroom...I had several bleeding episodes throughout my 7 weeks on bedrest....Once the placenta is completely covering, the chance of it moving is not promising. I ended up having a bad bleed on May 1st and they dediced to take the baby..I was only 36 weeks...he did end up in the NICU b/c he had fluid in his lungs..but he did come home with me and he is FINE! You will probably need a c section...but dont worry, its really not bad at all!! FM me if you have any questions.

I was put on pelvic rest (no sex, don't lift anything heavy, no strenuous exercise). Then I bled around 28 weeks or so (i forget when) and went to the hospital. They monitored me and I was having contractions that i wasn't feeling. But the bleeding had stopped before I got to the hospital so they let me go within a few hours. I wasn't put on bed rest, but still pelvic rest and I wasn't allowed to travel. Doc said to not be more than 15 minutes from a hospital from now on.

I haven't had any other bleeds, but if I did they would have either kept me in the hospital or put on bed rest. I did spot a few weeks back, but it wasn't anything major.

The doc was going to deliver between 36 and 37 weeks, since they don't want you going into labor with previa. But since I haven't had more bleeds, she moved it to 38 weeks.

I'm having the c-section in 18 days and today is my last day of work. They said i still have chance of bleeding with the marginal previa, so I don't want to overdo it and go into labor.

Re: Placenta Previa

One of my friends has it and has not had to limit herself at all throughout her pregnancy. She's having her baby in 2 weeks Chat Icon

I had a low lying placenta and it moved. I know it's scary, but try not to work yourself up about it. Even though mine moved I wound up with a C section bc the baby just didnt want to come out. Everything will be ok! Chat Icon

Re: Placenta Previa

I did and my placenta had moved by 28 weeks. just do whatever your dr tells you, puts you on pelvic rest etc and you should be fine.
