placenta previa?
Anyone have this and close to delivering. I have known for a few weeks and go back in three at 28 weeks for a sonogram (found it at 21) but am starting to freak out a bit the more I read about it. Doctor didn't seem overly concerned yet, but did mention bed rest, bleeding, early delivery, etc...I am completely freaking now that I have done some more in depth research onthe internet--sometimes the internet is not a good thing. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or know someone that has.....after a horribl pregnancy this is the last thing I needed, I had a nightmare about it last night...ughh!!!

Re: placenta previa?
I had a low lying placenta which wond up moving, but one of my BFs has complete previa and is 30 weeks right now. She is having a scheduled c section at 37 weeks. She has not had any bleeding or bed rest or any restrictions for that matter and her pregnancy has been pretty normal.
From what I understand previa is pretty common, so while it sounds really scary, try not to totally stress out about it or read too much. It will drive you crazy. I know it's easier said than done though...

Re: placenta previa?
I have complete previa. I only had one bleed so far, and it wasn't that bad, but I was told to go to the hospital anyway. I was released after awhile, and was NOT put on bed rest. But I am on pelvic rest, and cannot travel (or be too far from a hospital).
They plan on giving me a csection between 36 and 37 weeks. But if I bleed again I could be kept in the hospital or put on bed rest. So far it's just more of an inconvenience to have this, but she assured me it's not THAT dangerous with todays medicine. I googled the condition too and freaked myself out. But my doc seems pretty calm about it.
