PIO #1 done
yup- i'm a chicken... still used ice.  warmed the PIO though and DH had no problem w/ it. No lump either- maybe b/c it's only 1/2 the amount compared to the next 2 nights 
He massaged it in for like 5 mins w/ a warm compress on it and that seemed to do the trick- he kept asking me where this lump I keep talking about getting is? I think he thought it was an excuse for a massage   lol
1 down, 2 to go...
