If your DC had pink eye, is the eye always pink? And does it seem to bother him/her?

My DD had a lot of "goop" yesterday and this morning. But, it hasnt been pink at all, and it doesnt seem to be bothering her. However, when I dropped her off at daycare this morning, I found out another girl in her class came down with pink eye on friday. Do you think that means she has/is getting pink eye? I told the school to call me if they think so and I would go pick her up.
