Re: Pill Q
Not too sure!
I would go out and get the Target brand prenatals until you see a doctor (they go down so easy)! At my 1st doctors appt, they gave me a ton of diff prenatal samples and i was able to try and see whcih one worked best for me- so make sure you ask

Re: Pill Q
I can't swallow big pills either. I pick up my prescription Prenatals today and if they are big, I am sticking to my Wal Mart ones. They are called OneSource Prenatals and they are no bigger than a Tylenol tablet.

Re: Pill Q
I would really ask your doctor. I think my prenatals have 1000 mcg of folic acid.

Re: Pill Q
What brand of prenatals are you taking? I have the DuetDHA and they are two little tablets, they go down easy. I've also used the Duane Reade brand and they aren't too big either. I would ask your doctor for different ones.

Re: Pill Q
Honestly, it's fine until you see your dr. Explain the issue to them at your first appointment and see what solution they come up with.
Congrats, by the way

Re: Pill Q
I think that's fine. I think some women take the Flinstones. I couldn't even remember to take my pills with DS, DD was better but not my much.

Re: Pill Q
I take Flinstone's children's vitamins with an additional folic acid 800mcg supplement, and my doctor said it was fine and has everything that the prenatal has. Check with your doctor, but I am sure that's fine.

Re: Pill Q
I would also say check with your doc, but some of the pills go down more easily than others.
I started with the Duet DHA and somehow the pharmacy gave me a generic when I refilled. The generic version made me gag and I couldn't get it down, so I paid the extra and went back to the Duet. Toward the end of the pregnancy I was even having trouble with that, so my OB told me to just take a Flinstones chewable.

Re: Pill Q
I have been taken the wallgreens brand and they are no bigger than advil and they are great. I have never been nauseas or anything and baby is doing well. My doc looked them over and said they are fine. HTH

Re: Pill Q
I have trouble with them as well. You can cut/break them if that helps

Re: Pill Q
i did a lot of research on this. if u go to target and compare their regular multi vits to their prenatal vits-you actually get more and better vitamins in the regular multis than the prenatals. I don't think there is anything magical in the pre-nats- even the folic acid amount was exactly the same So I woudln't worry about it too much and I would just take what I could swallow if I were you
