Pilates

Talk to me about it...lol

I went to a class today...enjoyed it. But oh boy what a work out!

How many days per week do I realistically need to do pilates so I can start feeling the benefits? Do they really work?

Re: Pilates

For me, if I do it 2-3 times a week each week for a month I notice a difference.

I love Pilates. I use to do pilate mat classed 1x a week and also pilate reformers 2x.

It really did change my body and reshaped it! My legs got longer and leaner and my but/hips got smaller. I think the reformer really helped me. It took about 2-3 months for me to start noticing, but your abs will feel more toned earlier.

Now I'm preggers, so no more pilates for me. I miss it!

What is the difference between a mat class and a reformers class? The class I did today was a mat class.

Pilate Reformers you use a machine for resistance....which allows you to work your arms, legs, abs with light weight, but it creates long lean muscles v.s Regular weights which can add bulk.

Re: Pilates

Due to cost and time constraints (I work long hours) I usually only get to do one pilates reformer class a week. I do regular gym workouts too (usually elliptical, treadmill, standard weights, etc.) and the pilates really helps my core, my flexibility and my posture.
