Pics of Playrooms
Now that we have decided to make a playroom, I need inspiration on how to decorate it. Please show me pics of yours or ones you have found. Thanks.

Re: Pics of Playrooms
We're not at that stage yet, but very soon. I'm planning on making one wall a chalkboard, using the chalkboard paint, so the entire wall is a chalkboard. I also want to look into the magnetic paint so I can either combine it with the chalkboard paint (not sure if I can or not), or make another area magnetic.
BIL is an artist, so I'm thinking of asking him if he would do a mural on one of the walls.
The rest of the walls will probably be mostly posters and wall stickers, that way we can change it very easily as they grow up and their tastes change.

We were thinking about doing the chalkboard wall too. Are you nervous that they won't be able to differentiate what walls they can write on what walls they can't? That is my only fear

Will the magnetic wall interfere with any electronic equipment (TV, DVD, stereo) you will have in the room?

We have a small chalk board that they use right now. I'll have to re-evaluate the idea of having a whole wall now.... I'm not worried about them writing on the rest of the wall, since they do that now anyway...
Maybe I'll look into dry-erase wallpaper. I'll have to find it again, but there was either paint or wallpaper type stuff that you could make a wall into a whiteboard.

The wall isn't magnetic, it's got iron particles in it or something so that magnets stick to it. It shouldn't be any different than having something metal in the room. Most office buildings are full of computers, and many of them have steel walls, metal desks, etc, etc.
Computers are all shielded anyway, so only very powerful magnets will affect them.

Re: Pics of Playrooms
Here's a really quick something on the whiteboard front. It's 4' x whatever you want. It is a magnetic wall sticker that you just stick to the wall. It's a whiteboard, and it's magnetic. I think this may be the way to go. DC have whiteboards now, so they know which markers they can and can't use on it.

There may be other ones that are better/cheaper/more options, etc, but at least I know that the stuff exists.
