Re: Photoshop People
I use photoshop elements. It's a watered down version, but I haven't found that I needed anything in full photoshop that wasn't in this one yet. I only use it for touching up photos and manipulating them for fun.
Since I just use it for fun, I couldn't justify spending over $600 on the full deal. I think elements was just $100-150 or something like that.

Re: Photoshop People
I have CS3 extended, it is the full featured version with some added on mapping, scaling features. I use it for work. If you want something to play with at home for most photo editing situations, I think Elements would be fine.

Re: Photoshop People
I use GIMP It does pretty much everything that the full version of Photoshop does, but it is 100% FREE!
I've been using it for years. I edit most of DC's photos that I print and frame. I take out minor cuts and bruises, stray hairs, drool, stuff on their shirts, etc. You can do layers, cloning, etc. There's very little you CAN'T do with GIMP.

Same here and I use it for work too. I agree, you really don't need the full version of photoshop, elements is really fine for everyday use of a homeowner just looking to touch up pictures of family and friends.

Re: Photoshop People
CS3. Depending on what you're looking to do, you could probably get by with Elements.
