Re: Photo"journalistic" location sites
I always pick old barns & parks.
I used to go to Hecksher Park in Huntington all of the time, but then I got bored with the same old shots.
Now I've moved on to historical barns.

I always get really nice shots of my DS at Lakeland Park in Ronkonkoma- they have boardwalks overlooking the pond and theres always lots of ducks etc...Especially in the fall, all the colors are beautiful

Sunken Meadow Park..you have the beach, the grass and greens and the marsh for pictures.
I happen to love the "urban" backgrounds of old railroad yards, industrial buildings and such but I don't know how great that would be for kids.
Love Hecksher Park in Huntington especially when they have the tulips in bloom and all the gosslings running around.

Are you near Old Field? There is a beautiful park right next to the Post Office.
