Photography People - How much should I charge?
I have 2 upcoming photo gigs
1) My best friend's sister wants me to do headshots for her and 2 co-workers. Not theatre headshots, just for her professional website. She lives within 5 minutes of my house. I wouldn't charge her at all if it was just her, but it's also her friends.
2) A bride on LIW wants me to take pictures at her engagement party. It's 45 minutes from my house and would likely be for a few hours on my feet, plus of course at least 2 hours editing and uploading the photos.
I'm not a professional, so I don't want to charge a lot at this point, but I want to be reimbursed for my time. Thoughts?

I am not a photographer but I would say charge whatever the gas $$ plus a small fee - nothing too crazy - I'm sure they will tip you as well if you're not charging...

I don't know about the headshots..but my cousin knows this new photographer who is just getting her business started. To go to parties and take pictures, she charges $100 an hour. This includes all the proofs.

Re: Photography People - How much should I charge?
head shots $50-$75 and that is for a friend
Engagement Party I would say $200 because you will have to take all the pics off your chip, download them, burn them etc. If she wants you to edit add $75 per hour.

Whatever you decide to charge - please make it 1000% clear that you are charging non-professional rates because you are not a professional.
FM coming your way with more info. =)
