I started using Picasa recently... and I like picnik.com also..
i was wondering if there is another website or a software for more extensive editing

you can download the entire adobe creative suite to use for 30 days. Most photographers use LightRoom though, and as a student or a teacher you can get a crazy discount.

I use Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Digital Image. I need to upgrade to Lightroom since the RAW to JPEG conversions take me forever right now and bc my Microsoft program was discontinued.

If you want to use something like photoshop but don't want to spend the $$, try out gimp.com it's free..
I use photoshop and aperture..

I don't know about the other programs but photoshop is expensive and is hard to use if you haven't been trained . . . I would suggest taking a intro class before buy it.

I import into Lightroom and do my Raw conversions and other initial processing there then export to Photoshop Elements 9 if I need to do some more detailed editing, then back to Lightroom to keep everything together (I use it to keep my photos organized by categories, tagwords, etc. too)
