Pet Insurance?

I was wondering if anybody out there has pet insurance and if it's been helpful at all.

Re: Pet Insurance?

I think pet insurance is very important. I hav VPI pet insurance. It has been very helpful, and I know as my dog gets older it will be even more importnat.

Re: Pet Insurance?

Thanks, I've decided that it would be a good idea. My dog is now seven and it would probably be a good idea to get him covered before they say he's too old or something like that. I'm going to look into VPI, as well as ASPCA. They sent me an e-mail, so I'm going to do a little research and see which one would work better for me.

Re: Pet Insurance?

I had VPI (no longer b/c I moved OOS and it's not available here). If it were available here I would still have it. I loved VPI. It saved me hundreds of dollars.

I am planning on getting insurance through VPI, but just wondering, do you guys think it is worth it to get the wellness plan included?

Re: Pet Insurance?

I would get it as soon as possible. My puppy just got home from the animal hospital where she stayed overnight and because most insurance companies have a 14 day waiting period for illnesses, I missed it by 2 days. I took out the insurance a few days after I decided to get the puppy.

Because of this, I am unable to submit any of these claims because of this and now I am out almost $1000.
