Period after a positive test?

Sorry, not sure where to ask. My bff took 3 tests recently. All positive. Went to the dr. and he said her #'s were low but it was possibly because it was so early. She was about 3-4 wks. Today she said she thinks she got her period. She has cramps and is spotting/bleeding lightly. Has anyone experienced this? Do you think she lost the baby? Any feedback would be appreciated!

anything is possible but I did have spotting entire first trimester and overall everything is okay with baby now at 24 weeks. I had a 'weird' period for a week before testing (gut feeling and a google search told me to test/ long story)
I didn't have cramping though. I had lots of sonograms early and I called my dr often in the beginning. I recommend she do the same.

Theres really no way to tell unless she goes to have her numbers retested or has an ultrasound. It can really go either way but hoping for the best for your friend

This happened to me once. I tested positive at home and went to doc for a blood test. He said anything over 5 is pg and my results came in at 4..a couple of days later I got my period with the worst cramps I have ever felt. Could have been a mc or a chemical.

Unfortunately, ur friend is gonna have to wait a couple of days and re test.

I tested positive at home and went to have bloodwork taken and my numbers came back low and they told me it was just early and that's why my numbers were low (32). But I had started bleeding the day before I got my bloodwork results. I ended up having a mc/chemical. B/c when I had blood drawn from the gyno my numbers were below 5 (not preg).
I hope all works out for your friend. I would say, go get the numbers checked again to see if they are going up.
