Perimenopause

How old were you when you started and what were your symptoms? Had you had children yet?

Thanks

Perimenopause

I've been perimenopausal, according to my obgyn, for about 6 years. I started at 25. Women in my family go through menopause very, very early, so this is normal for us. I have very heavy periods and hot flashes. They say I can do this for another 5-10 years! And I have three kids. It started after my second child was born.

Can I ask how you deal with the heavy periods? I just started getting them heavy and believe it is age related.

I'm usually out of commission on the second day of my period. I take Midol and sometimes have to take a Naproxen. I use a heating pad. I use the super long Always pads with the wings so I don't ruin my clothes. There's not much else to do about it Chat Icon
