people's photos on the web

I was looking for a local salon to get my hair cut. When I went to one's website (which happens to be myspace), I as looking at their pics and I came across a pic of a girl I recognized from liw/lif.

I know she did not go to this salon to have this style done (it was from her hair trial) and if I remember correctly she doesn't live anywhere near here.

Now should I contact her and let her know or just ignore it. WWYD or what would you want done if they were photos of you? I also don't want to seem like I am stalkerish to this person either...

yep! definitely let her know!!! that happened to me, and I'm so glad that someone told me about the pics...especially since I had specifically ASKED the pic taker NOT to post them.....thankfully, i was able to have them removed immediately!

I would want to know. I think you should tell her. IMO you have an expectation of privacy that should be respected - particuarly by a business.

Yes, definitely let her know. She won't think you are a stalker - just someone with a good memory who came across her pic by accident...

Then, she can let her actual hair person know about this b/c it is not right that this hair person is passing off someone else's work as her own -- I had something similar happen to me. When I got married, I posted pics on LIW and a florist took my pics from the website and started showing them to brides during appointments saying that I used them. He was doing the "oh yeah, this girl is from LIW, she used us"... Now, I found out because a girl I worked with happened to go to an appointment with them when she was getting married.

She had JUST spoken to me a few days earlier about who I used for my vendors, had seen my pics and of course she knows what I look like. So, when the guy showed her my pics and went on and on about how I used him she was so confused. She didn't say anything at the time and, at work, she was like -- 'You used "So and So" for flowers?? I thought you used Keyth?' I was like, 'Huh? I did use Keyth -- not "So and SO" - Why?' and she explained that they are showing pics from my wedding and passing it off as their work!!!

I had to let my florist know about it who had to send a legal letter to them saying they needed to stop doing that ASAP. They were passing off Keyth's work as their own!!! Terrible! But if it wasn't for my co-worker telling me I would have never known about this.

I would let her know, usually when places do pics of people they have them sign forms giving permission.

I think that happened a few months ago too.. someone posted pics of someone's hair trial as if they did the work, and they did not! That girl was very upset.. and I'm sure the person who really did the work would be upset too!
