People who dye their hair red....
Please help. I have a serious fading issue and it is driving me insane. My hairdresser says that red is hard to maintain but I feel like this is ridiculous. I had it done maybe 3 weeks ago and it is already fading. Is this hopeless? I use color safe hair products and it doesn't help. I've had it dyed 3x since April and each time it comes out awesome and in a couple of weeks it is almost back to my natural color.

Unfortunately, nothing I seem to do helps either. I'm in the same boat. It's like a month for me. I usually just deal with it since mine fades into a nice, lighter shade of red (never my natural color) and get it done every 2 months.

I don't die my hair red but my mom does---I kind of agree, her hair always fades pretty quickly. At first its always way too red, but always reminds me it will fade.

Unfortunately red is the hardest color to stay. I washes out so much. I gave up after awhile. I would suggest one of the shampoos with a hint of color in it. Check Ulta I'm sure they have some. I used to use Artec by Loreal

My hairdresser explained that red dye oxidizes the hair more than any other color - it opens up the shaft of the hair and allows the color to be lifted. I use a very deep conditioner and Nexus split end treatment and always wear a hat in the sun.

I used to dye my hair red and it's the same story. It is the hardest color to maintain. Sorry.

Try not washing your hair every day and using the coolest water you can stand. Aveda color shampoos seem to work the best IMO
