Pension/Annuity Question

Has anyone received an annuity from their employer who is ending a pension plan? If so, how was the amount of the annuity calculated?

Years ago, the accumulated value of my pension was rolled into my 401k when my employer discontinued the pension. Did not have the option of an annuity.
I would assume that if the accumulated value of your pension is x, then that amount is deposited into an annuity account to grow. Payout would be how you determine it. Fixed amount over y years, joint and survivor, etc. It would have a finite end.
