Pennysaver Ampitheater
Tomorrow is Sam Hunt. I am excited. We are going to tailgate. However, I'm not into breaking out the grill. Anyone have a recommendation for a to go type place for food? I'm thinking of ordering and picking up on the way.
I'm hoping to get there before the made rush I don't want to have to take a shuttle!

I live around the block and there was a huge problem at the last country concert at the Amphitheater. They did not open the gates on time and people showed up by the thousands to tailgate, and ended up parking in all the residential neighborhoods and started drinking. Cars were lining the street, people who lived in the area couldn't get to their home and had to abandon their cars and walk home. It was terrible. I had drunks knocking on my door asking to use the bathroom, and my neighbor said people were peeing on the grass on the side of my house. I heard many stories of passed out young people at the concert itself.
Expect traffic, and lines. And lots of people. If you tell me what direction you are coming from, I can give you a good idea for take out!
Sorry to be a downer, but the way the last one was handled is really a sore spot with me.

There is a main lot, but it doesn't hold near enough cars. So once its filled, they overflow into the Brookhaven Town Hall parking lot about a quarter of a mile away, then they shuttle people. Many people don't want to be shuttled and will park on the street, and it causes many problems. This concert, they are claiming that if you park on the street you will be ticketed. But I know people will do it anyway.

Re: Pennysaver Ampitheater
Here are two places VERY close to the Amphitheater that have great take out.
For amazing chicken, wings, onion rings, ribs and stuff, this place is awesome: Wings N Things
And this Deli makes great sandwiches and salads: Waverly Deli and Heroes
In the shopping center with Wings N Things is also a Subway and a Dunkin Donuts.
Also on North Ocean as you come up from Sunrise or the LIE, there is a BK, McDonalds, a Taco Bell and an Applebees.
Hope that helps. Have fun

They need to come out in force and just TOW. Tow all those cars illegal parked away.

I totally agree they need to tow! AND, they need to be out there at the end of the show doing sobriety checks. Many, many residents complained to the venue afterward. I took pictures of the miles of trash left behind and sent them. They owner did call me to address my concerns and apologize, but I felt he did it to just appease me as I was flooding their facebook page with complaints.
I am somewhat used to the crowds that the venue brings to the neighborhood. Fourth of July fireworks always brought the most, and people would line the local streets and sit in chairs to watch. But that was a family crowd and tolerable. These country shows bring tons of underage drinkers out. I could not believe the amount of your people I saw carting coolers and coolers of beer after parking in front of my hours. Hours later a few girls came back to their car, popped a squat on a kiddie potty in the back seat with my kids playing Frisbee in the yard right there, then got out and dumped their urine on my sidewalk. It was so disgusting and appalling. Cops were called but came too late and virtually did nothing.

The fact that they allow all this drinking and driving to go on is deplorable. Unreal!
