Penile adhesion...? about ped pulling it apart.

We had a well visit today and when he checked Rylans peep he pulled the skin back. I was told to put vaseline on it for a week until it heals. The problem is Rylan doesn't really let me touch it anymore. Do I need to pull back the skin(which he has ALOT of extra skin)and put the vaseline on or can I just put a glob of it on and hope it gets in there? I know it's bothering him because it must have just burned when he peed. He just spread his legs while standing and pointing to it and complained

keep doing it every diaper change if not the vaseline...DEF the pulling back...my 14.5 mo old still adheres from time to time then we have to start all over again with the soreness! It is annoying!!

I honestly have no idea how it really happened...I have ALWAYS pulled it back while cleaning since birth. I knew it got bad but it really blows my mind how it happed. Up until a few months ago he could care less when I did it. now he starts yelling and turning over. I don't know how i'm going to get this done...ugh.
