penicillin during pregnancy
hello ladies. i've been quiet this week because i'm trying to fight off some crazy infection. i called my OB yesterday for results of a urine/blood test earlier in the week and no one called me back. i finally had to get one of the other OBs in the practice on an emergency call to prescribe me antibiotics because i've been running fevers/chills since sunday.  i'm so worried that the little bean now is cooking up all wrong!  that leads me to the question of.... has anyone been prescribed penicillin during pregnancy and the baby was ok with it? i'm so worried that that'll affect the baby, esp in the 1st trimester.

If the dr prescribed it to you knowing you are pregnant, you can take it. So yes, take it. The baby will be fine.

My baby books and the handouts my Dr gave me all say penicillin is ok
