Peds First Pediatrics in Medford
I'm looking to switch practices and 2 friends highly recommend this one. I am hoping to space out vaccines more for my next DC (when I have one eventually), but more importantly I'm looking for someone on board with me delaying DD's MMR. My current practice doesn't agree and I've been feeling very uncomfortable with their doctors. Anyone happen to know their view on vaccinations? Thanks!

We go there and yes, they are ok with delaying vaccines. We give our DC only two shots at a time so they let us makes shot appointments to get them, Iam not sure about MMR because his 1 year well visit is next month, but we plan on delaying so I hope they agree. I usually see Dr. Nastassi or Iype, we saw Dr. Halegoua once but I also hear good things about him.

We go there and DD just got hers at her 2 year appointment. I chose not to give the hep b in the hospital which they were fine with so we were behind from the beginning. She had her first dose of that at 2 months and we went on from there. They never ask you to come in for an extra visit if you miss a shot. I think they normally do the mmr at 15 months. Since we were behind DD would have had it at 18 months but she needed the flu shot and I didn't want to combine those so they held off no problem.
One of the things I really like about them is that they are very laid back and don't try to dictate every little aspect of what you do. At the same time, they're quick to respond, listen to my concerns, and the whole office is very easy to deal with. My only complaint is that they did not give me good advice having DD evaluated for PT but in the end I just followed my gut. If I didn't have the support of this site DD would have been much further behind than she already was when we started EI. Other than that, I've been totally happy with them. We usually see Dr. Iype.

This is where we go too! We usually see Dr. Halegoua but have seen all 3 dr.'s. They are fine with delaying shots. My dd didn't get the mmr until she was 3 years old and I plan on delaying it till them for my ds.

Great! Thanks so much girls. This is actually so much more convenient for me too. Glad to hear such great things from people on here too. I feel confident I'm making the right decision to switch.

I love them. We see dr Halegoua. He will delay shots if you ask. Any time we went in for shots, they told me which ones DS was scheduled for, and if I didn't want multiple shots at one time, or asked to space them out, they never gave me a problem.
Something I really like about Peds first is you can email any of the drs with a question and I have always gotten a quick response

Re: Peds First Pediatrics in Medford
love them! we've seen all 3 doctors, but I try to stick with dr haleguoa if I can. if I ever have a problem, I email him and he gets back to me right away. he's very laid back... and as far as shots, he always told me "I'm here regardless, if you want to space them apart and come in more often, fine by me!" I have definitely opted not to give some shots in combo with others, and so I've gone in to make up a shot or two at another time, and I've been in and out, 1-2-3. the MMR - actually I was told originally that they do it at 18 months. when I went in for dd's 15m visit (in feb) - it was offered to me then, and recommended, due to the recent outbreaks. I did opt to have her get the shot then, but I didn't feel pushed into it. I've never felt like I ever HAD to do something there - they offer, and will give their recommendation/advice if asked, but ultimately it's your decision and they are fine with that.

I'm pregnant with my first, due in 5 weeks, and really need a pediatrician! I also want to space out vaccines and will definitely look into this practice.
Are these Drs affiliated with Stony Brook hospital? TIA
