Peds
Please recommend your peaditrician. I've gone to interview a few and on the fence. I know it's mostly a personal decision but I'd like to hear about the peds that you have. Would you recommend them? Are you happy with them? Anyone has Dr. Kurfist as a Ped? How about any doctors from Huntington Medical Group? Suffolk area much better (East Northport, Huntington etc). Thanks a million !!

Re: Peds
I use North Shore Medical Group and I'm very happy with them. I see Dr. Prushik and like him very much. I interviewed with Dr. Shineman but have not actually seen him. Dr. Prushik has a 2 year old and a 4 month old so he's very responsive to my questions and concerns.
I recently had some concerns regarding Molly. She really didn't have a fever but her temp was a little high and she seemed congested. I called on Saturday afternoon and spoke with the triage nurse who was going to speak with Dr. Prushik. I had a return phone call within a 1/2 hour and was given the choice to bring her in or not. I was very impressed with how they responsed and handled my questions and concerns.

I think my sister uses this Ped (Are they on E Main St?). They are happy with theirs, I know that. Do you have any specific questions I can ask them.
Although I have seen our peds have different philosophies, so, like you say, its a personal preference.

Re: Peds
My choice was pretty easy. Dr. Richard Pohl in Wading River. It's a bit of a drive for me now, but he was my Ped growing up, and also my Boy Scout Scoutmaster, so needless to say, I'm pretty comfortable with him... :)

Re: Peds
Dr. Cavanaugh, Huntington Medical Group.
Great, great guy. Wonderful repoire with babies, toddlers & preschoolers. Takes time to answer all of your concerns. Calls on his day off to follow up with sick children. I can't rave enough about him.
Easy to get an appointment, will call in an RX for pink eye if he's confident that you know it's pink eye (saving you a dr visit & a co-pay), has kids of his own so he gets the parental worry - office is open 365 days a years. I first met him on Fourth of July, when Maddie spiked a fever at 2 weeks old. I have an enormous amount of respect for his opinion. He listens if you have an alternative views (I don't have many but had concern over vaccinations), but will still give you his opinion.
Just meet him, interview him...
