pediatricians
has anyone not met with a pediatrician but just went based on recommendations and that they were on your plan?
my doctor recommended someone and i looked them up on line and there are only good things said about them. they are on my health plan and associated with the hospital i will be giving birth at.
we dont really have time to run around and meet with people so i kinda want to just chose them if they are taking new clients and be done with it. if we end up hating them later on we can find someone new...
does this sound ok?

yes, my ped was reccomended by a friend who I trust so we went with him and LOVE him!

I think it is ok, especially if your dr recommended them. I think I may do the same thing as you...b/c like you said, you could always switch.

I didn't meet with anyone. I went with recs from here and friends. I'm very happy with who we chose.

Same here. I was on bed rest and couldn't interview anyone.

Yeah, DH and I know we need to interview peds but it seems like it would be so awkward. We know where we want to go and the peds there were recommended on here so we'll see if an interview happens. We can always change. And if we can't decide we'll get assigned one at the hospital anyway.
But I just worry it will be weird if we say so and so is our ped and then when the hospital calls to say the baby is born, the ped will be like

We never met with ours. I have a friend who is a doctor and she recommended the practice, and I heard nothing but good things about them from anyone who had used them. Truth is, it's not like it's written in stone. If you go to the first appointment or 2 and decide you hate them, then you find another doc. No biggie!
