Pediatrician spinoff
Does everyone interview pediatrician? Has anyone picked one from the recommended list that their OBs office gave them? Or, used the same one as a family member as long as they are accepting new patients?
If so, do you need to notify them that they are now you pediatrician?

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
I used the same pediatrician as my best friend. I did make an appointment and go in and meet her, just to make sure I had all my questions answered and that I got good vibes...but I didn't do a full fledged interview.

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
We only interviewed one ped. My ob/gyn and lots of LIFers recommended him. He is in the same building as ob/gyn, so after my appt, I walked in and told them I wanted to come in to meet him, they set up an appt and he went over everything about the practice with us

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
I didnt interview. I asked for recommendations from family/friends and my OBGYN. Ironically, the Peditrician that a few of my friends use and love is also the one that my OBGYN uses so I didnt feel the need to interview.
I just called them and told them my EDD and that I would like to use them. Since they are affiliated with Winthrop (where i am delivering), I just have to give their name when I am admitted and they will come check up on the baby there.

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
i chose my freinds babys ped. I have a meeting with him next weds. to go over a few questions i have.
i did call and notify out of kindness. I wsa then asked if i want to meet with the dr and i jumped on it.
I think you really just need a ped name to tell the hosp bc the ped needs to come in the hosp and check out the baby b4 we leave the hosp.

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
I took a friends recommendation and then stopped by the office and met with the nurses. The first time I actually met him other than a quick hello/goodbye was in the hospital.

Re: Pediatrician spinoff
I plan to interview. I'm very picky about doctors. Because I do have recommendations, I may not have to talk to so many.
