Pediatrician Recommendations (Nassau)
I recently gave birth to beautiful daughter at 32 weeks and 5 days. She is in the NICU now and doing well, but I feel very behind in getting everything ready. Does anyone know a great pediatrician in the Rockville Centre area. Also, if you know anything about preemie's - I'll take any advice I can get. Should I be looking for a pediatrician that specializes in preemie's

Dr Forgionni (sp) in RVC. She's awesome. There are three women Peds in the office and all terrific. When I lied in Lynbrook we used them for DS ans loved them. When we moved to nj I was sad to leave that practice, but funny thing is we found a Ped that new and studied with them so they are pretty similiar.
Anyway, I love them all. They give you their time and you go right into the room for any babies under 1. Nurses are all great too.

Pediatrician Recommendations (Nassau)
my DD was born at 33w1d. how big was your daughter? mine was 3-8. she spent a little shy of one month in the NICU. came home right when she should have been full term. she lost 8oz initially and then gained and I took her home when she was 4lbs 10oz. we havent looked back since. she is perfect in every way and at 19m is all caught up in every way and even a little ahead in some areas. she's somewhere in the vicinity of 23lbs now. our ped is amazing Dr. Rubin in Mineola. we love her and she was always very sensitive to Em being a preemie. im not sure that any PEDs specialize in preemies but we have always loved ours.
the NICU is rough. its very difficult not being able to come home with your baby. if you are breastfeeding pump as much as possible and nurse when you are there (if you can). when you are there do as much skin to skin as possible. i wish i did. i only did it a little cause i was overwhelmed. i really believe it helps both baby and mama. when you deliver early and have a NICU baby you are at higher risk for PTSD and PPD. it may not come on for a while. make sure you keep an eye on yourself and take care of yourself - eat and drink and rest when you need to. the baby will be well taken care of. if you need anything def ask. you can FM me anytime!! congrats and good luck!!

Dr Cathy Gross @ South Nassau Pediatrics on N. Village Ave. They are open 7 days.

We go to this office. It's Pediatric Professionals and the docs are Forgione, Fusco, and Pellosso. All wonderful docs!
