I don't know of any recs in that area, but my DD hit her face on her crib 2 weeks ago and I rushed her to where I work. I work for an orthodontist and one of them used to be a pediatric dentist.
Anyway, she knocked her front tooth right out of her gums. The whole root and everything. He said that she was very lucky that it came out that way. If it broke she would have issues with removing the root and it may damage the adult tooth when it's ready to come in. Good luck, if I were your friend I'd try and bring her in somewhere right away.

They aren't specifically pediatric, but I went to Dr. Botner on Main Street in Islip as a kid. It's Islip Dental Associates. Or if your friend has a dentist in the area I would call the office and see what they recommend.

Dr Justus in Islip is my dentist. She recommends Dr Salerno in Oakdale for kids. My insurance only covered kid smiles in Holbrook. I called around to a lot of places when ds had a toothache. Oh and I think Stonybrook ER has a kids dentist on call. Hth.
