Peanuts and nuts in general--UPDATE FROM MY DR
OK--I know a lot of you said your Drs advised against eating peanuts and other nuts after a certain point...when is it? My Dr has not mentioned anything but then again, I keep forgetting to ask. Please help!
UPDATE- I spoke to my Dr today...he said he has never heard of not eating peanuts...and unless there is a family history of nut allergies, there will be no problem. Just wanted to let you all know!

Re: Peanuts and nuts in general
From what I understand, they advise against peanuts/peanut butter in third trimester...but a lot of people take an "in moderation" approach...

Re: Peanuts and nuts in general
I asked my doctor and she said there are no medical connections and eating peanuts and peanut butter is fine.

Re: Peanuts and nuts in general
My doctor has never said anything about nuts/peanuts. I have eaten PB&J sandwiches and have had some nut mixes with peanuts in them.

Re: Peanuts and nuts in general
I have heard actually that it is while BF that the allergy problem can arise. My Dr said that if the peanut allergy is in the genetics, then I might want to be cautious, otherwise, everything in moderation,
She never said anything about other nuts, and I even have asked about almond butter as an alternative & she said that was fine.

Re: Peanuts and nuts in general
So weird how Drs differ. My Dr advised me to lay off the peanuts/peanut butter throughout my PG. I didn't have to give them up altogether- just reduce my intake.
