Peanut Butter
I love Peanut Butter, DH hates it. I wish DS would eat it, but he always says he doesnt like it, and I always figured it was because he heard DH say it. He wont go near peanut butter or anything with it, I think its hysterical cause he can practically smell it. For example I offered him a peanut butter cup. he literally licked the side of it with the tip of his tongue and said he didnt want it. So today I snuck some peanut butter in his mouth (I know I am a bad mom)- less than pea size which he immediately spit out, and he had a 10 minute mealtdown, running around the house yelling "Peanut Butter in my mouth", drinking juice, rinsing and spitting.
So my question is do you think its an inherited taste. I know peanut butter is either a love it or hate it sort if thing. Does your DC love it or hate it?

Re: Peanut Butter
We both eat it. Andrew loves it. He could eat a PB&J sandwich for lunch every day. Maybe its jus a texture thing, it is rather thick and gooey.

Re: Peanut Butter
Not a mom yet but this is a constant source of discusion between me and DH.
I HATE PB... yuck, yuck, yuck.
A few years ago I finally took a poll of my family, aunts, uncles and cousins that at least 1/2 of us are about it. I thought I was the lone freak
My DH is afraid that the twins will be social misfits if they don't eat PB like their mom.
Trust me I've tried but the smell just makes me want to hurl.
My mom was from Scotland and never fed it to me, probably because she never had it herself.
One day, in 2nd grade, I was on a playdate and the mom made me a PB and J sandwhich. I was PARALYZED with not knowing what to do. I remember thinking, I can't NOT eat it that would be very rude but I also remember thinking, OMG, I can't. So I started crying.
My mom, who didn't drive, had to walk 3/4 of a mile, with my 4 year old brother in the stroller to come pick me up. PB has scarred me for life
I'll make it for them but I'm not eating it and if they don't like it it's not the end of the world.

Re: Peanut Butter
I hate peanut butter; always did, always will. Both my girls like it. If I had influenced them, they would have hated it as much as I do. They tried it; they liked it.

Re: Peanut Butter
You know the situation in this house.
DH & I love it...Nicholas wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole!!
If the kid SMELLS peanut butter, he tells us to get it away from him.
So no...not inherited...just one of those things that our kids do that we analyze over and over again!
I'm hoping he grows out of it though cause PB & J for lunch is real easy for Mom!!

Re: Peanut Butter
I plan to let Andrew try it after he turns 2. I love it and DH hates it with a passion. We'll see how Andrew reacts!
