When I go to Destination Maternity, I walk straight to the back so I don't get tempted with the Pea in a Pod selection.

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

I can't even.

yesterday in Kohls!!!, I was almost in tears b/c of how "marmy" the clothes were in there...but the prices were great.

Pea in a Pod or some of these other boutique places have some really nice stuff, but at the end of the day I couldn't justify the cost.

I think though, that IF I EVER do this again, I will plan to treat myself a little better in terms of what I wear. sometimes I look at myself and what to puke.

Tell me about it. I love the stuff, but I try not to buy from them. Only special things.

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

i kind of think they are a rip off. it's the same company as motherhood with different designers.

i bought two pairs of corduroys from motherhood at destination maternity for $35 each.

as i was walking out i saw the same exact pants (even the tags looked similar) that were pea in a pod brand for $68 each.

these pants are the perfect length, fit, everything and super comfy. they are definitely not slacking on quality!!

You just described my weekend! I drove all the way across town to go to a Destination Maternity. I was so upset that I would find something I actually found "pretty" and maternity, a combination that rarely exists, and then see the price tag! Chat Icon Totally bummed me out. I went looking for a dress for my shower, no price set in my mind, and was still disappointed.

Went to Kohls after and actually cried in the dressing room. Their section is so small and non-descript. I have 2 prs of capris from there that are ok (just standard) but haven't gotten any tops. They also have no maternity dresses at allChat Icon

I try to avoid mirrors at all costs, but I know at work people must be thinking "What happened to her?!". My wardrobe should be on What Not To Wear. Anyone want to nominate?!Chat Icon

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

I know how you feel! I went to the one in Macys Herald Square and I was mad that they wouldn't take my Macys coupons. lol I have only bought two items there. A black dress for weddings this summer and fall which was normally $270 on sale for $99 and I feel I can wear it for future pregnancies, and a black sweater I got for $50 on sale. The rest of my clothes are from gap, old navy and normal clothes that work as maternity.

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

Sometimes they have good sales. I got some really good deals on the Mimi Maternity stuff that is their in-between brand.
Also check out their website (Destination Materinity) They have more there than they do in the stores.
H&M has some decent looking stuff, but their selection is not too big. I got some nice stuff at Gap.
Ann Taylor Loft also has some pretty maternity stuff.

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

I only buy sale. I walk straight to the Motherhood section, but then the sales people always bring me things from Pea in a Pod to try on - I'm like what don't you get, I'm a cheapo, do not bring me anything over $20!

Re: Pea in a Pod is EXPENSIVE

It is expensive.

I went to a Maternity Works store at an outlet mall outside Orlando, FL and got some AMAZING deals on Pea in the Pod clothes (including a PITP winter coat originally $350 reduced to $59!!).

I'm sure they must have other maternity outlet stores in the outlets on or near LI? It was TOTALLY worth the trip for me - I got so many clothes for so little money.
