PCOS and regular cycles?
I went to my gyn earlier this month because we have been trying for 7-8 cycles and no luck yet. He ended up taking blood for a hormone work-up and giving me a referral to get an HSG done and for DH to have a semen analysis. We actually were going to wait one more cycle before going for the tests but i just got a call from my gyn and he said that my hormone levels are indicative of PCOS. I just started doing a little research on this but I was wondering
Does anyone have PCOS and fairly regular cycles??? My cycles have always been about 28-33 days both on and off the pill. I almost never have missed a period.

I have PCOS and was always severely irregular. I do know people, though, who have perfect cycles with PCOS, so it is possible!

I agree. Try checking pcossupport sites- I use a couple- google in pcos support- I forget the actual links. I think one is soulcysters.

Hi, I have PCOS and regular cycles 29-30 days since I've been off the pill. (It's been a little over a year) Have you had a sono to check for cysts?

I have not had any tests done other than a hormone workup. My gyn just called me yesterday to tell me, and he referred me to Dr. Copperman of RMA of NY.

I have PCOS and my cycles were regular after I came off BC in April. I was on BC so long that I don't even remember whether they were regular before I went on it. If you're a normal weight, I think they're more likely to be regular, even with PCOS. Also, you can try Vitex/Chasteberry (it's an herbal supplement), which may help you ovulate. A lot of women with PCOS have success with that.

It's not so much the weight as it is the severity of the PCOS.
To answer the OP, I always had irregular cycles until I first went off the pill...had about 6 moths of regular cycles then got more and more erratic. Good luck!

I am exactly the same as you. My blood work was just confirmed too. My cycle has always been 30 days like clockwork. I've only been late 1 time and that was stressed related. My DH is going Tues for the semen analysis and Thursday I go back to discuss my results in more detail and decide the nexr course of action.

I JUST read the Q&A by Dr. Licciardi. This is what he said,
If you have regular cycles can you have mild PCO? No, because by definition, PCO women have irregular or lengthy cycles. Now this does not mean you can’t have ovaries that have a high number of eggs and follicles. So your ovaries can look like they are pco, but you don’t have a disease or syndrome. It also means that clomid could still be indicated, even if you do not have PCO.
