PC Richards & Circuit City - do they match (or beat) prices?
DH and I have a flyer from 6th Ave Electronics and would like to buy the TV from CC since we already have a credit card from there. we would also rather buy at PC Richard's b/c they are very close to where we live, in case of any problems.
I have walked into CC with printouts from amazon.com and other online retailers before and they have never agreed to match the prices. they said it has to be a "brick and mortar" business. ok, fine. but when I bought DH's SLR camera, it was less money at B&H in the city and they wouldn't match their price either.

yea well, last time I tried at CC, they said no. and B&H is a brick & mortar business 
f they say no this time, I am never shopping there again. they have the same exact TV as the other store, but for more $.

id be surprised if PC Richards didn't match. Ive always been able to talk them down at PC RIchards, but never at CC.

I used to work at PC. They will only match if the place is an authorized dealer. Most if not all "camera shops" in the city are not authorized dealers.

do you know if 6th Ave electronics (in Commack & Westbury) is considered authorized?

you can try looking it up on the makers site. IE - go to sony.com and find the closest dealer. or call the makers 800 number to ask point blank.

here is another PC secret
when the guy is looking up the info on the computer peek. look at the middle of the page on the left hand side. you will see a bunch of letters. look at the letters next to UC (this means unit cost)
the code for those letters are
D O N T G I V E U P (D=1 O=2 N=3, ETC.....) TAKE 10% OFF THIS PRICE AND THAT IS THE LOWEST THEY ARE ALLOWED TO GO.
plus if they dont need a manager ID to go forward with the sale, they didn't give you the lowest price.
I hope i didn't confuse you.

Don't go in do it all over the phone and remember to get a name. I always have better luck over the phone. For some reason if you call they know your shopping around for the best price :)

or
is the tv offered online at a better price?
a store as soon as it walks out the door will tell you to go though the mft that made the tv...unless you have purchased extended warranty (which i never do because it can be a waste of money in most cases)

the first 30 days they may "should" help you out...after that, its the mft. some may play a game with you to go though mft
what tv did you decide btw?
B&H is not a similar store or too far away..that what they may of said. Retail and online stores are different. BB actually got in trouble of a little while making customer pay different prices on different sites for higher fees.
Both stores should price match. PC Richard haggle you. There the difference is there commision... CC doesn't always have great prices...

It may be worth saving a few hundred bucks if you go.
He saved us close to 800 on both of ours.

so wait... the D = 1, etc.... what does the 1 mean exactly?
If I understand this right, if you saw DPP next to UC, it means the unit cost is $100 (D=1 and P=0) and then you can knock 10% off, so the lowest they can go is $90.

I know a salesguy at pc richard, he is not a manager but has to enter the manager code in each time he is lookng up an item this way it gives us the lowest price
lets just put it this way, we search and shopping at about 10 place kept records and PC came in 40% cheaper than everyone, plus we got sooooooooooooo many rebates over 1000 in mail in rebates
