Passport question
My passport still has my maiden name on it.
I know I have to send it in with my marriage license and such.
Could I just bring my marriage license with me and use the passport with my old name?

Re: Passport question
Nope, you can't do it...
name on tickets have to match the passport name
The way I got around this:
I book my tickets under my maiden name, use my passport (valid and not expired) with my maiden name and use my license (valid and not expired) that has my maiden name.
ETS: Did you mean going to the agency to get a new passport? You'll just need to bring your marriage certificate and ID.....
Unless of course you meant just bring it to the airport, etc. then my response makes sense.

Re: Passport question
I'm pretty sure you have to send it in and just bringing your marriage certificate with you is not enough
One thing though, after your passport gets back to you, your married name is just like printed on a page....its not changed near the picture unless its a brand new passport...which I thought was weird

Re: Passport question
If you're flying -- the ticket must match what's in your passport.
I've been married since 2007, but haven't changed my name on my passport. Whenever I've traveled internationally, I just book the airline ticket in my maiden name.
As for when you finally do go to change it--it's the same as when you first got your passport. You sent your original birth certificate and they sent it back in a couple weeks with your passport. Same thing as your marriage certificate, you send in the original and they send you back a new passport, your original marriage certificate, and your old passport.

Re: Passport question
Just book your ticket in your maiden name. That's what I did until my passport expired.

You can do this but if your ticket is already booked in the married name you will need a new passport. I had to mail everything in and got a brand new passport just a few weeks ago!
