Passport question - Canada
We are planning on going to Canada for 4th of July. I know we need a passport. DS passport expires in October. Do you think we will have issues? I remember reading somewhere that it needs to be renewed 6 mths.....aggravating sine the passport is valid for 5 years.
Anyway...does anyone know?

You will be fine. Renew it after it expires.

You can renew it after it expires. At least that's what I did when DH's expired. My little sister actually traveled out of the US on an expired passport by like 3 months and no one ever said anything (back when she was 16).

Children don't need passports to go to Canada, only a birth certificate.
"Children under 16 need only present proof of U.S. citizenship."

You'll be fine with that going to Canada. They recommend 6 months for overseas travel but for Canada it won't be an issue.
