Party @ Holtsville Ecology Center-Park

I was thinking of throwing DD a party at the gazebo by the park/pool at the Holtsville Ecology Center. But I can't get anyone on the phone to ask about the questions that I have. Has anyone been to a party there or even better- thrown one themselves? Anyone know the answer to these questions or can give me more info?

1. It is free to use the space, correct?
2. Do I need a permit to have a party there?
3. Is there a limit to how many people can be there/I invite?
4. Is there anyway I can officially reserve it? Or is it only first come first serve. And how does that work? Can I put balloons there in the morning and then leave and come back or does someone have to sit there all day not allowing another family to use the space? This seems so tricky...
5. And this one is kind of dumb, because I know it's a public space and you can't really drink in any public space BUT, can I serve alcohol?
ETA 6. If you had a party there, did you have a problem with strangers? like people walking over and talking to you or trying to eat the food you had??

My friend had a party there years ago. There was a procedure to rent the space. I'm not sure what though. I would call the town since it's owned by them.

You need to pay to have a party there. There is no alcohol. A party we went to there, no problems with strangers coming over. A random kid here and there, but they basically just rand through. You def need to call. It is NOT a first come first serve type of thing.
