Part time day care--suffolk/nassau border

HI ladies!

We arent due until April, but we want to put DC into daycare part time. DH thinks its good for socializing and learning. Does anyone have recommendations and a round about price?

I live in Lindenhurst and work in Farmingdale.

TIA!

I can't speak from personal experience, but my friend takes her DS to PrimeTime in Farmingdale. Not sure if they do PT though...but she's very happy with them.

Tutor Time in Massapequa just opened up, they mention full and part time options. THeir number is 799-1234.

Good luck!

Re: Part time day care--suffolk/nassau border

I took my son to Calling All Kids and looked into switching to prime time..here is the down low

My son was only at DC for about 4/5 h/day for 4 days. Cost was 1335 from calling all kids - they do not do part time.

They were great, very nice and caring people. My son loved it (he went from 6mth-17mth), but of course there were a few things I did not like. (meals they fed them, always giving milk or formula, etc)

Prime time did allow to pay for hours used and it was about 350 dollars cheaper than Calling All Kids (for using 30h/week m-th). Prime time was more "instituational". More strict and scheduled. Where as CAK was more whatever baby needed. For example, if my son didn't finish his breakfast b/f arriving they would feed him. Prime time kept them on feeding sched. and he would not get food.

It depends what style of parenting you like. CAK was more family oriented, and I felt I would rather pay the money than do the other style.

That being said...it ended up being cheaper for me to just hire a nanny. I am expecting baby 2 and just couldn't rationalize $2600 for 2 kids for 30h/wk. So we hired a nanny and are saving $350 now and $1600 with number 2!!
