Parents vs. Breeders

I'm on a FB CF page and there was a recent discussion about "parents" vs. "breeders".
"Parents" being competent adults who teach their children how to behave, right from wrong, nurture, etc and create other wonderful human beings for our planet.
"Breeders" being people who procreate and do not do the above!
Thoughts???

Re: Parents vs. Breeders

I dont like the term breeders....

I think its a horrible name that CF people have given to parents. And according to the definition below....NO parent would ever admit to being a breeder... Chat Icon Chat Icon

breeders may be a little harsh of a term but I can agree the theory. Some people just procreate because thats what they think they should do or want to do. They have no desire to "nuture and create wonderful human beings."

Re: Parents vs. Breeders

I'm a parent. And I love your comment! Not joking. I always wanted to be a mommy and I love my time with my daughter. I have friends who just have kids because, and it makes me...well...sick. If you really don't want to do what's right for your kids, or can't, or whatever, don't have them. There is nothing wrong with being a CF at all. I respect people who say "it just isn't for me" for whatever reason b/c I know that they aren't bringing people into the world for the wrong reasons. Sure, the term "breeders" may be harsh, but I don't disagree with it.

I'm totally ok with the term breeders. I usually preface that term with "brainless"

Parents vs. Breeders

I think we can not compare parents with any other term or thing. Parents are always great.
