Parent volunteer opportunities in ms/hs
The other thread got me thinking, as many of you mention volunteer opportunities at your children's schools in ms/hs.
What opportunities exist?

PTA sponsored activities that need chaperoned
Sports - coaching and parents that handle adm duties
Booster Clubs
Events hosted by the school that need chaperoning
Girl Scouts
Religion

Girl Scouts is not school sponsored
In my schools parents are not allowed to chaperone any club or dance or school related thing in MS or HS.

Parent volunteer opportunities in ms/hs
It is limited in MS and HS but our PTA does a breakfast once a year for the kids, book fair and they run the school store. All other activities are fundraising and just done with adults. Teams might ask for parent participation though.

Parent volunteer opportunities in ms/hs
The only thing I know of are PTA sponsored events like the book fair, etc. in the middle/high schools. I don't volunteer for anything at my son's HS. Just my DD's elementary

Parent volunteer opportunities in ms/hs
I know between my district and a few surrounding ones chaperoning trips, booster clubs, pta fundraisers, help build the homecoming floats. In the district where I worked they did a prom boutique, did sales at all sports games, organized a fashion show fundraiser.

It's the coalition against substance abuse. They do a lot of work to prevent alcohol and drug use among teens in our area. A lot of fundraisers, drug awareness and education.

That's interesting.
Every hs I've gone to/worked at kids did the floats and only teachers were able to chaperone trips/run clubs/chaperone games.
