Panic
DH and I are selling my co-op (contracts signed by buyers and on their way back to out attorney) and buying a house (contracts being drawn up). We were already approved for our mortgage with 20% down at a pretty good rate.
Once all is said and done (closing costs for sellers are a killer!! And add closing costs for buying!) We aren't going to be left with a HUGE cushion in the bank. Maybe like $8,000......I am freaking out about that not being enough....what if something happens in the house right after we move and it costs that much to fix?!?
Is it normal to freak out about SO MUCH MONEY. I just feel like we are never going to feel like we can afford it b/c it's all SO expensive.
We both have stable jobs and families that can help....I just can't stop freaking out. Oh and DH is freaking out worse than I am!

Re: Panic
It's normal. At least it was for DH & I. But I can tell you, $8000 is A LOT more than we had after closing
You'll be fine. And congratulations on the sale and the purchase

Re: Panic
i know that buying a house was soooooo stressful, I cant imagine selling one at the same time! that everything works out for you (and maybe when its all said and done you find you have more of a cushion than you had thought)
