Painting the baby's room...
and the rest of the house... (pg related kinda)
Here's the deal. The painter can only come for 5 days in a row on a random week in November. I have off on Tuesday, 11/11 for Veteran's day, and dh can switch work hours for Monday and Friday of that week. Great. So, on Wednesday and Thursday I need to take two, back to back, personal days from teaching.
Do you think putting in for two personal days is permitted typically? Also, the painter said he could do it over the December break but I'm going to be huge by then (due in Jan) and I don't want anymore shiit going on in my house. I want it to be done by then.
SO, do you think it's appropriate to even ask for two personal days in a row like that? I've never done anything like this before.
Thanks!!!

Do you need to be there when the painter is working? I wouldn't want to be in the house while it's being painted. We're buying a house right now and we plan to have it painted before we move in.
What does your contract or board policy say about personal leave? If you're allowed to take 2 days in a row off and you want to be there, then request the leave.

Crashing because it is you! You can definitely take 2 personal days in a row. I have done it before. Don't worry!
Also, it is a good idea to get it done sooner than later.
Just an FYI, my friend (is expecting) and painted her house in toxin free paint Benjamin Moore EcoSpec paint. It was a little more but she felt better about using it and it is more green. Just wanted to share.

Re: Painting the baby's room...
hey!
I'd have to be in/near the house because of my two little fur-rats - I don't leave them in the house when anyone is here doing anything. They bolt the minute the door is open wide enough.
Great thought about the toxin-free paint, Ivelysse... I'll have to look into that...
