Painting quotes-one room

We are thinking of getting our bedroom painted. My husband called one company and the guy said for a room that size (I think its about 10X15 but I am not sure) we will see quotes from $500-$1200. Does that sound right? I had no idea that it cost so much for one room to be painted. I don't want to waste my time calling around to a ton of companies if this is a normal rate, b/c there is no way we could afford this. Any idea if this is correct? It seems like a big range. He did say that the more rooms you get painted the less each individual room will be.

Help!

that does seem high, but I'm not sure.. if it would be that much, is painting it yourself an option?

Well to me that sounds VERY high but I could be wrong as we have a friend of a friend working on a flat rate per day and he's less than half of that per day....I've heard of entire homes being painted for 2000-2500 so wil lbe interesting to see what others say.

Re: Painting quotes-one room

We just did this last year....we wanted to paint only our bedroom, and had a few guys in for estimates. They ranged from $600-$800 for the one room, including BM paint. I think if you are painting a whole house, the painters are already there for several days with all their equipment and setup, which is why it costs less per room.
