Painting Q

Ok we live in an apartment but our landlord gave us the paint that was used in the living room and staircase. (It's the same color.)

There are some scuff marks in the stairwell that look horrible.

I have been asking my husband for months to paint it. But he has not. I even bought the rollers and tray for him.

I never painted before but I think I can manage it. Do you think spot-painting the area would make that area look different that the other areas? I.e. darker or lighter.

I was thinking of just doing the few areas myself without doing the painters tape thing. And if something spills just wipe it up real quick.

What do you ladies think? We have some guests out of town guest coming over this weekend which is why I just want to just paint it!

Re: Painting Q

i think u will be fine. go ahead and try it.

worst that can happen is your husband sees what you are doing, and takes over

it will look different the paint at first, but once it dries, it should blend in ok

Re: Painting Q

If they are scuffs I would try Mr. Clean Magic eraser on them first before I paint.

Re: Painting Q

I agree too! It really works well. It even took off some of the wood stain that got on the painted part of our stairs. I would try this first. Then you don't have the smell of paint for your guest this weekend. Chat Icon

I did try the magic eraser. It actually faded the paint some places and in other places the scuff marks are still there.
