We painted first. I had to touch up a little here and there where DH nicked the walls during installation but there's nothing easier to paint than a big blank wall.

paint first, so the cabinets aren't obstacles.... it goes much faster, and the cabinets won't accidentally get any paint on them...

Can I ask why everyone is painting before? Do you have alot of area that will be shown? I wouldn't have wasted all that paint when we ony painted above the cabinets.

Can I ask why everyone is painting before? Do you have alot of area that will be shown? I wouldn't have wasted all that paint when we ony painted above the cabinets.
You dont necessarily have to paint the entire area behind the cabinet... just what you know will show. It will just save a HECK of alot of effort with blue-taping things up, being overly cautious about getting paint on the cabinets, etc.

We had NO clue where everything would lay out so we had to wait until the end. We had everything gutted and redone.

Thats what we did - we knew pretty much where the cabinets and appliances were going to be so we only painted the middle of the wall, you can see in this picture
