Painting a new home

I am curious to know how many of you painted BEFORE you moved in versus AFTER you moved in? I am not concerned about breathing in fumes while PG or for Abby. There are plenty of rooms for us to sleep in in the interim where we will not be affected. I'd like to move in while I am on vacation between the end of school and summer school, but if we have to paint, that may not work out as smoothly as I'd like. TIA.

As soon as the walls are primed in our house that we gutted to the studs and added a full dormer to, we will be having the contractors paint. Also we need to paint before they install the floors.

we have a week between closing and when my DH can get off from work. so ill be in there painting like a mad woman trying to get as much done as possible before we get in

We painted after we moved in.

We didn't have to repaint the while house, the common areas we in the color scheme I wanted. So, we just had bedrooms and we did those one by one after we moved in.

Ideally, I think painting before you move in is great-no furniture to move, easier to prep, etc. But it just isn't always practical.

We will be painting DS's room and our room before we move in, just easier to do that since there will be no furniture to move around yet. The rest of the house we will do over time.

we painted, refinished the floors and replaced all doors before we moved in...I just wanted everything fresh for when we moved in
