painted fireplace

i have a painted brick fireplace (its painted white). i painted the room BM china white (which is cream, grey, or tan depending on the light and room it's in)

should i paint the fireplace a fresh white? i dont want it to look just painted over. is there any type of paint or technique to make it look new and crisp?

or any other ideas..

Do you have a picture of the fireplace? Maybe you could just do some really nice crisp white molding.
