Pain on left side

So I went to my RE on monday, had a sono - showed 1 big follie in my left ovary...was called later in the day with bloodwork results and was told i was surging. My CBEFM has yet to give me an egg.....Obviuosly I am going to trust the bloodwork results over the monitor, but then that means I should have ovulated yesterday, right? And why do I still have pains on my left side?

i never went thru IF but i had the same thing happen to me the month i got PG. i had pains on my left side in the area of my left ovary well into my first tri. my doctor said that it's a cyst called the corpus luteum that releases the hormones like progesterone to help the egg, if it gets fertilized, implant (has something to do with the lining of the uterus).

some women experience the cyst as being painful, some don't experience it at all. either way it's nothing to worry about. Chat Icon

ETA: about the surging... i don't know enough about the bloodwork you got to comment about you specifically, but i do know that some women get positive OPKs b/c they have their LH surge and then, for some reason, ovulation is delayed by a day or two... but i would say based on my own experience and the pain you are feeling that you have already O'd. stil, keep in mind i am not a doctor Chat Icon

Re: Pain on left side

The surge can last for a couple of days. So you may be ovulating now, when you are feeling the pain.
