packing for vacation
We're not going away for another couple of weeks, but I've been giving this alot of thought. I'm not too concerned with the whole clothes thing, but do I bring any toys? Diapers? Food from home?
We will be going to Orlando and are staying at my timeshare, so we'll have a full kitchen and plenty of room. Should I just bring what I need for the plane ride and buy everything else down there?

hmm, you have a few options.
one mom I spoke to said she MAILED lots of stuff to her hotel, but didnt really agree with that.
I went out to buy LOTS of stuff there, and I HATE wasting time on my vacation. Even that 45 minutes adds up between travel time and putting stuff away 
Its really up to how long youre staying, and how you feel about running out for an hour here and there for things you need.

I am going to NY soon and I am only bringing formula and diapers for the plane ride and then will stop at the store and pick stuff up when we get there

My thinking is always to bring whatever I can fit in my luggage. Probably not too much of a help to you but I bring toys & books definitely. Food & diapers-I'd get most of it there; sounds like you'll be going food shopping anyway with a kitchen.

Well we're going to have to go food shopping anyway, so I figure I "should" be able to find the same stuff he eats at home. I think I might just bring a few little toys and books. I can always give him pots and pans to play with.

Oh definitely just bring the basics and shop down there for whatever you need.
For some strange reason I have a really hard time finding chicken nuggets in Tampa  (only veggie ones and thank goodness Jake eats them) I don't know what odd item Orlando may not stock but otherwise buy that stuff when you get there and use the extra space for his favorite comfort items - a blanket, a favorite book, a bathtime toy, etc.
What helps me when I'm packing for a trip with Jake is to mentally walk through a full day with him...it helps me remember the little things like his toothbrush and toothpaste.
