Packing for 3 & 5 year old BOYS

I feel like I need their entire summer wardrobe for a week's vacation since I won't have access to a washer/dryer. Oh, gone 8 days? Yeah, you need a least 12 pair of shorts - and let's not discuss the number of shirts what? 2 a day minimum??

Isn't is sad and pathetic that I have anxiety about NOT being near a washer/dryer ???

Are you going on the Disney Cruise? I thought I remembered that being you? If so, there are washers/dryers on the ship.

It gets easier when they get a little bit older. 8 days with a tween?.... one shirt and one pair of pants is just fine with them.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't even have that many tops or shorts for DD. Maybe just buy a few packs of white undershirts for backup. You could also pack a small container of detergent and wash out shorts in the sink if you're in a jam. I hate packing a lot!

We did the same trip last year 4 nights in wdw and 4 nights Disney cruise. It was one of the reasons we stayed off Disney property BC I wanted a washer and dryer.
But there are laundry rooms on the Disney dream so you will have access if you need it. And really....especially on the cruise you can recycle the shorts....my boys( 5 & 2 at the time) spent most of the days in swim suits!!! Enjoy

I would also either rinse out really well, or wash your swimsuits after visiting Castaway Cay. It's sea lice season, and those suckers burn!

Where are you staying that you won't have access to a washer/dryer? Most hotels (or cruises) either have a washer/dryer for guests for at the very least, a laundry service. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but IMO, worth it so you don't have to pack so much extra clothing.

I say just rinse out the bathingsuits for the boys. Pack those Adidas outfits. They clean the best incase they need to be worn again. My 2 yr old is always a mess when I get him from school and they just easily wipe off and dry so fast. Chat Icon

At least their clothes are small and light. I'd just make sure about having extra underwear. The rest can be worn again and a few nice khakis and polo's for dinner.

Don't stress! They're kids.

ETA - as PP said they will be most likely in their bathing suits all day. Boys can get away with that and the rash guard tops that match. When we went to Aruba they never wore any of the shorts and shirts I brought. Just for dinner. Had breakfast and lunch in their suits.

Imagine you had a girl too...she'd be likely to get just as dirty, then you've got to add in all the dresses for the evenings, plus matching sandals for all, and sweaters. Did I talk about the HAIR ACCESSORIES yet?!! Ahhhh!!!

Remember the days you just had to pack for yourself? Chat Icon Chat Icon

We just got back from a Disney cruise. they have washer/dryers on the ship. I didn't use them but they are there.

the one good thing about 3 and 5 yo kids is that their clothes are tiny.

Re: Packing for 3 & 5 year old BOYS

As much as I try not to, I always overpack. One of the reasons I prefer going on vacation within driving distance is because it's easier to fill up a car than have to limit my packing. We're going to Disney for 1 week and I have no idea how I'm going to keep clothes to a minimum especially with a toddler who soaks through his shirt with drool and constantly gets dirty. My older one should be a little easier to pack for, but I still need to take extra stuff just in case.

Wash stuff by hand, even with a bar of soap.
Hang on shower. It will be dry by next day.
