Package from the Hospital
When did you receive yours? I remember I got one when I was pregnant with DS from LIJ. THis whole packet with info on the hospital, checking in, #'s to call, classes to take, etc.
Now I'm 27 weeks and I will not be delivering at LIJ this time. We're in NJ now. Just wondering if this hospital does it or if it's just still too early.
Thanks!

Re: Package from the Hospital
I suspect it's different from hospital to hospital.
I'm pre-registered at our hospital for weeks now (Huntington) - - and I haven't received anything (and didn't honestly expect to receive anything).
I learned all I need to know at one of their free prenatal/labor and delivery classes.
Good luck!

Somewhere around there. I'd ask your OB or give the hospital a call just in case

Which hospital are you delivering at? I delivered at Centrestate which was fantastic and so clean.
At around 30 weeks I asked for the registration packet and it was one from. I mailed it to the hospital. Then at 39 weeks my dr.'s office (I go to Healthy Women) had me fill out another 1 page form and they sent it directly over to them. When I went in all I had to do was hand over my insurance card and sign 3 pieces of paper.

Yes!! That's exactly where I'm delivering. I heard the maternity ward is nice. So excited b/c it'll be a big difference from LIJ. I go to WomensPhysicians and Surgeons. The office is across the street from CentraState My next appt is in 2 weeks so I'll ask when I'm there

Yep. They gave it to me along with the glucola for my one-hour test. The folder included info on the one-hour test and all of the hospital registration forms and info.

Me too! At about 8 weeks I received a letter saying that my insurance has cleared my delivery there for natural or c-section.
I'm almost 20 weeks now and have yet to receive anything else from them. And I do plan on going to their free classes.

Some things I didn't know when I went that I will tell you: 1. All post pardum rooms are private 2. DH can stay with you 24/7 and there is a club chair that turns into a bed 3. You can have anyone in the L&D room up until you push 4. Visiting hours is until 8pm and no kids under 11 unless they are siblings 5. The baby is in your room 24/7. This was the biggest shock for me. They will take the baby for an hour or two but he/she will room with you.
