Pack and play

Do I really need the pack and play- I like the idea of it- but it's SOOO big!

I'm going to have a bassinet so I don't need it to serve that purpose. Does it
come in handy as a play pen when the baby gets a little older?

Re: Pack and play

I didn't have one with my son, and won't get one for this one. I do have a co-sleeper though, but that stays attached to our bed.

Re: Pack and play

I was debating this also, and decided to get it because I can take it with me when I go places.

Re: Pack and play

Thanks! DO you all think if I get the smaller one (the portable pack and play) it will be good enough? Or should I get the bigger one to use as a play pen later?

Re: Pack and play

I think I am going to look for one used, that way if I don't ever use it, I won't really mind.

I think I would lug it to the beach, but I don't think it would be set up in the house.

Re: Pack and play

I think that I will definitely need it as a play pen later on. There are times when I have to let the dog out and the baby needs to be in a secure spot for a minute or two.

Re: Pack and play

I have 2 pack n plays and love them!!!!!!! I have one on the main floor that he naps in and it is also the changing table. It will also come in handy when he gets bigger

We have one in the basement so when I am doing the laundry I can watch him.

And we use the co-sleeper upstairs.

If you have one floor you probably don't need it.

I only used mine as a bassinet. My daughter hated being in it as a play pen. So, I'd say no you don't need it.

Re: Pack and play

Yes, we are getting a pack and play, but mostly to take to the grandparents when we visit on weekends, etc..

I will have a bassinet in my bedroom for when the baby is firstborn..

Re: Pack and play

LOVE mine....we have a split level so it's in the LR and I used it SO often to change her or put her in when I needed to run to the bathroom or while in the kitchen.

She slept in it well while travelling too. And when they get older it serves as a playpen

Re: Pack and play

I LOVE mine now, at first I didnt use it much but now, that's where she naps in the LR every day. I love it! She loves to hang out there while I make her bottle or clean up - she listens to the music or looks at the mobile and all her toys.

I will have one, I have a 4 level split house so I will put it on the lowest level in the den for changing and naps.

And then when he gets older I will use it as a playpen.

I'm definitely getting one with a bassinet and changer since I'll be traveling alot to visit the grandma's! Also I have a raised ranch, so I think it will be useful to keep it downstairs in the family room since that's where we spend alot time between watching TV and doing laundry!

I use it everyday. She naps in it. However, it's not as portable as I thought it'd beChat Icon
