pacifiers causing ear infections?
i heard on the news yesterday,that a study was done,and babies that used pacifers,had more ear infections,because the bacteria on the pacifer mixed with the babies saliva and spread to the ear.my son uses a pacifer,he has had 1 ear infection at 6 months old.Your thought

I agree with PP. Marron is 26 months and has used a paci since day 1. Never had an ear infection. {{{Knocking wood}}}

Re: pacifiers causing ear infections?
I think some babies are more prone genetically to ear infections than other babies are. I don't know about the study but I have read that giving bottle while the baby is laying down can bring more fluid into the ears and cause infections - but I could be wrong - so I guess the pacifiers could do it. But considering many babies put them in and out of their mouths they just might be more likely to pick up things in general same could be said of thumb suckers.
